1. Christmas Craft

I have been seeing a lot of these ornament wreaths on pintrest and was lucky enough to finally come across a DIY for it. Since it was so easy and turned out great I decided to share and make my own DIY!

    What you’ll need:

    • Ornaments - All colors/sizes (I got small medium and large from the dollar tree) IMPORTANT: You will need 100+ no joke sounds crazy but true, I got 1 tube of each color in each size which totaled around 105 ornaments
    • Styrofoam circle from Hobby Lobby - (sidenote: my wreath was bright white and I wished I had spray painted mine green or something less noticeable under the ornaments)
    • Hot glue gun & Sticks

    Directions

    • Step 1: Hot glue the large balls around the inside and outer edges of the wreath
    • Step 2: Hot glue the medium balls wherever you please
    • Step 3: Hot glue the small balls wherever you see a hole, I began to start gluing some on top of others where there were holes
    • Step 4: You’re done! Pull off glue webs and hang wherever you want!
  2. A New Take on Pumpkin Pie:

My mom found this recipe about 5 years ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Because Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I decided to share it in case anyone was looking to bring something different to the table. This pumpkin pie is so easy you can probably make it in 15 minutes and just throw it in the fridge to set! I also love it because it’s a little lighter and less rich than the traditional pumpkin pie.

    What You’ll Need:

    • 1 8oz tub of Cool Whip (thawed)
    • 1 Tbs (& 1 cup) of milk
    • 1 Tbs of sugar
    • 4oz brick of original cream cheese (I get the 8oz and use half)
    • 1 can (15oz) of pumpkin
    • 2 pkg (4 serving size each) of vanilla jello INSTANT pudding & pie filling
    • 1 (6oz) graham cracker pie crust
    • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
    • 1/4 tsp of ground cloves

    How to:

    1. Mix 4 oz cream cheese (softened), 1 Tbs milk, & 1Tbs in small bowl.
    2. Gently stir in half (4oz) of the cool whip into this mixture
    3. Spread cream cheese mixture into the crust
    4. Mix 1 cup of milk, can of pumpkin, 2 INSTANT dry pudding packs, and spices in a medium/large bowl
    5. Spread mixture over the cream cheese layer
    6. Refrigerate for 4 hours or until set
    7. (Optional) Top with remaining cool whip
  3. Craft #2 Re-painted Mirror

This mirror is one of my favorite pieces I have for my room I love the shape and size of it! My mom found it for me on sale in an ugly army green color, but had a vision and painted it hot pink in my younger years. Now that I’m trying to have less of a neon colored room I decided to match it with the color of my desk and dresser in cream. It turned out great!

What you’ll need: Spray Paint, Butcher Paper, Painter’s Tape, & a Razor

How to: You would usually take the mirror out, but because of it’s shape we just covered it with paper and taped it with painters tape. The spray paint was challenging due to the brightness of the previous color but after some patience and a couple coats of paint it was finished. The hardest part was taking of the paper and scraping off some sneaky paint that had somehow gotten onto the mirror around the edges.

  4. Craft #1: Beautiful Bulletin Board

After finishing cleaning/updating my room I decided the old magazine photos had to go and it was time to update my desks bulletin board with some fun fabric! I had this initial plan of doing a burlap with lace thing, but let me tell you if you are planning on doing this don’t go in with any plan! It’s really one of those things that you have to hunt until you find a fabric you love and the fabric I loved was nothing I had planned on. All I did was test out two fabrics and then staple-gun it to the board. My mother took over from there and added a pink boarder with some fun rope anddd waalaaa a brand new fun desk!

  5. I would say I’ve been busy, but the truth is I have three tests this week after a successful weekend full of philanthropy events and here I am sitting in class deciding maybe I’ll post something on my tumblr. …Literally I don’t think this class could take any longer.

What I wanted to post today was the ever trending DIY blue jean shorts. I got my inspiration off pintrest of course & kind of tried to make it my own.

LACE SHORTS: You will need: denim shorts, lace fabric, sewing supplies

-buy shorts from platos closet (got some for $5!)

    -cut to desired length

-get a small square of lace material from a fabric store

-find someone how to sew (aka my mom)

    -show them your vision

    -sew the fabric

AMERICAN FLAG SHORTS: these were slightly more challenging and I needed more supplies but overall worth it! You will need: masking/painters tape (for stripes), some form of stick on stars or stencil to trace stars, red white & blue fabric paint, some blue jean shorts

-get shorts & cut to desire length

-tape off striped & stars (I’ve seen this done on the front or on the back pockets both are cute!)

-paint some white squares for the stars & the white stripes

    - place down stars on white squares and paint over the whole side with blue

-after one color of stripes are done tape off finished area & paint the other

    -fully dry

  6. Valentine’s Day is a week away and with that being said you probably have no idea what to get your Valentine, be it a significant other or friend. You are thinking long and hard of how to find a thoughtful gift while not breaking the bank. And if you are a college student it has also gatta be something that takes up virtually no time.

WELL HAVE I GOT THE GIFT FOR YOU!

This Valentines day Nick & I agreed to just do a $20 gift and I really wanted to do something sweet that wasn’t so predictable like a baked good or a piece of clothing. So after a little pintrest surfing I came across The Booze Bouquet. I am so excited to show yall how EASY it is and how great it came out!

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

-mini liquor bottles of person’s preference (the patron is expensive! but others are around $1.75) found at spec’s or any local liquor store

    -wooden skewer sticks

    -hot glue

-a basket, bucket, pot or anything to hold all of this

-styrofoam (to stick the sticks in the pot)

-any fun decorations & filling (I got liquor candies, peeps, coasters, & some crinkle paper fill, dollar store it up!)

    HOW TO:

-First I painted my bucket with a paint pen & tied a ribbon around it to make it not just a bucket. You can decorate however you want I’ve seen people leave it plain as well!

-Then I hot glued the mini liquor bottles to the sticks. (NOTE: I was nervous at first because lots of those bottles are plastic but it did not hurt them. ALSO if you are using a heavy glass bottle glue more than one stick for added support)

-I then placed my styrofoam in the bucket & started to place sticks in how I chose at all different heights. Some sticks I cut to make it easier to jam it in there!

-Then I finished with adding stuffing to cover up the styrofoam & goodies for fun!

    THAT’S IT!

I hope this helps some of you who have been looking up gift ideas! This would be great for any special occasion I think I will probably copy it for some 21st birthdays!!

  7. Speaking of coolers… A big tradition with fraternity formals is that their date paint them a festive cooler for the trip. This is the one I did for delt semi formal to the southwest classic with Nick!

  8. I’ve been wanting to make something for breakfast for quite a while now, but my need for sleep usually overrides my want to cook 9 times out of 10. Today the stars aligned. I had nothing to do and woke up at a fairly reasonable hour to make this! YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS NOW. I ate half of this (not even a joke). It’s amazing, it’s easy, it’s fast, and you probably have all of the ingredients. All you need to do it just wake up a little early. Totally worth it.

About me

My name is Amy Urban, currently a college Senior at Texas A&M. I originally thought this tumblr account was going to be all about my photos that I take, but I realized the beauty of these accounts is that you can literally do anything with them. I am not set in stone on what all mine will entail, but I know what I like: photos, writing, food, music, traveling, family, and friends so be expecting some of that and then some!!
