Casual Vacancy
Before I begin this I would like to say that I am a HUGE J.K Rowling fan. I had seen mixed reviews for her newest book Casual Vacancy, but seeing how amazing of an author she is I figured what is there not to love?
…..Well I was wrong.
In her defense I will say that I believe she was trying to get to some deep insightful inner meaning of political positions and upcoming generations, but I just didn’t see it and frankly, maybe she couldn’t do it in one book. But overall the book was rough, so rough in fact that about 3/4 of the way through I texted 2 of my avid book reader & JKR fans asking for any promise of the book getting better. Their response? “I couldn’t tell you I GAVE UP READING IT”. These are not people who give up reading books and have read the whole Harry Potter series at least 5 times through.
Well my friends I did finish reading this book and I can tell you that the ending entails multiple deaths and leaves you with kind of an ehh feeling. I try to see the good in books, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Better luck next time JKRo I have faith in your brilliant imagination and hope to see it in a new book series that can make a little more sense.

Christmas Craft
I have been seeing a lot of these ornament wreaths on pintrest and was lucky enough to finally come across a DIY for it. Since it was so easy and turned out great I decided to share and make my own DIY!What you’ll need:
- Ornaments - All colors/sizes (I got small medium and large from the dollar tree) IMPORTANT: You will need 100+ no joke sounds crazy but true, I got 1 tube of each color in each size which totaled around 105 ornaments
- Styrofoam circle from Hobby Lobby - (sidenote: my wreath was bright white and I wished I had spray painted mine green or something soon)
- Hot glue gun & Sticks
Directions
- Step 1: Hot glue the large balls around the inside and outer edges of the wreath
- Step 2: Hot glue the medium balls wherever you please
- Step 3: Hot glue the small balls wherever you see a hole, I began to start gluing some on top of others where there were holes
- Step 4: You’re done! Pull off glue webs and hand wherever you want!

A New Take on Pumpkin Pie:
My mom found this recipe about 5 years ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Because Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I decided to share it in case anyone was looking to bring something different to the table. This pumpkin pie is so easy you can probably make it in 15 minutes and just throw it in the fridge to set! I also love it because it’s a little lighter and less rich than the traditional pumpkin pie. What You’ll Need:
- 1 8oz tub of Cool Whip (thawed)
- 1 Tbs (& 1 cup) of milk
- 1 Tbs of sugar
- 4oz brick of original cream cheese (I get the 8oz and use half)
- 1 can (15oz) of pumpkin
- 2 pkg (4 serving size each) of vanilla jello INSTANT pudding & pie filling
- 1 (6oz) graham cracker pie crust
- 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp of ground cloves
How to:
- Mix 4 oz cream cheese (softened), 1 Tbs milk, & 1Tbs in small bowl.
- Gently stir in half (4oz) of the cool whip into this mixture
- Spread cream cheese mixture into the crust
- Mix 1 cup of milk, can of pumpkin, 2 INSTANT dry pudding packs, and spices in a medium/large bowl
- Spread mixture over the cream cheese layer
- Refrigerate for 4 hours or until set
- (Optional) Top with remaining cool whip

Gold - Chris Cleave
I read Gold at the end of summer after loving his book Little Bee, and this book might have surpassed that. Gold is about two best friends competing to race in the 2012 Olympics. The book takes you through their scandalous past and challenging future, and not just because of Olympic gold being at stake. Highly recommended! -
Considering I bought a $5 90’s windbreaker the other day I found this appropriate, enjoy!

On September 14th, 2012 I celebrated something every aggie dreams of, Aggie Ring Day.
